Member Changes

In 2017 the band’s vocalist Chris Musser and drummer Tim D’onofrio departed from the band. Just as their name states, they’ve essentially risen from the ashes and started anew with their newest material. In our interview with Lance and Mat they briefly touch on how this newest record was a communal effort. That meaning, not everyone wrote their own parts. Everyone gave input on each other’s parts in order to develop a more cohesive sound as a band.

Always Evolving

With all of these changes, surely their sound has evolved since their conception back in 2013. While they’ve retained that almost hip-hop element to their sound, they’ve appeared to stick with that heavier radio rock that’s become so prevalent. While many bands continuously chase trends, From Ashes to New has stayed true to themselves while never growing stale by releasing material that’s identical to their older stuff. With their newest singer, however, they have embraced even more of a pop element to their already changing sound.
