Shinedown Throwdown Greenville SC

Shinedown are no strangers to Upstate South Carolina. That band has played at Furman University, CCNB Amphitheater, BSWA, and The Handle Bar (RIP). They have been performing in the Upstate their entire career, so it’s no surprise they brought the “Shinedown Throwdown” to Greenville. Last night, October 8th, Brent Smith and Zach Myers gave fans an intimate Q&A and Acoustic Performance. Radio hosts from The Rise Guys on 93.3 The Planet and Big Buck Country submitted unvetted Q&A questions to the band, ranging from everything, including “How do you pick a setlist for an event like this?” To someone asking about having to share a bathroom, and someone “Blowing it up,” and somehow Rob Zombie was mentioned. Fun Fact: according to Zach, Rob Zombie just “Looks Dirty”; he’s actually very clean, and the “Dirty & Dusty” look he has is just baby powder, so he smells amazing! Then the band led into their set, giving fans acoustic versions of fan favorites like “Young Again“, “A Symptom of Being Human“, “Searchlight,” and no acoustic show would be complete without performing a South Carolina hit from none other than Hootie and the Blowfish, “Let Her Cry“. The night was filled with wonderful music and sing-alongs and tons of jokes about the gift baskets given to the band from the event sponsor “Adam & Eve,” and no, we’re not talking about the Bible Story. And let’s not forget Brent’s favorite part of the evening, the “Promo Sign”. I’ve been a part of a ton of acoustic shows. Ranging from acoustic tours to private VIP performances, the energy of this was different; it didn’t feel like a concert; it just felt like a bunch of friends hanging out and playing some tunes, telling stories and jokes. So, huge thank you to 93.3 The Planet, 101.1 Big Buck Country, and The Foundry for putting on such a special event. We were not allowed to bring in any other cameras other than our phone, so the photos below aren’t what we normally post, but here are a few. If you were at Shinedown Throwdown, then please let us know your favorite moments in the comments.
