Sometimes when a project isn’t working out with something you’re passionate about, it’s time to take matters into your own hands and make it happen. That’s been the story for Big X, rising from the ashes of the former band GP. He may not be a household name at this point, but his rising numbers on Spotify, 20k listeners at this time, indicate he has no plans on slowing down.

That leaves us today in which we are giving you the brand new song/video for the dark and uncomfortable Excess, which has been called ‘too dark’ for some others to premiere from a thematic standpoint. This track features heavy industrial elements with pop sensibilities giving you a harsh, but true picture of the world we live in. Watch it below and read out interview with Big X below the video about the song!

Big X Interview

•What is Big X and how was this born?

Big X is my alter ego. He came to me in apparition and told me to dissolve my old band gP. and put out a message on my own. He is free in all the ways I am not. Big X has a direct link to the devil and chain-smokes cigarettes and cigars to keep from going insane from all the evil. X is a man before anything.

•There are quite a few vibes in your music that all tend to flow well, what influences are you drawing from?

X currently draws from a lot of 90s electronic and trip-hop. As always, there are a lot of influences and themes from films as well as music.

•Excess is a dark song with some tough truths regarding the world today. Whats this message and how did it come about?

The song is a literal interpretation of the temptations we are constantly drawn to. Be it drugs, sex, anger, or dishonesty, they want us however they can get us. Eventually, we all crack.

•What other content can we expect from you in the future and where can people find you?

There will be a new Big X track/music video every month for the foreseeable future. X has a message and agenda he will send out to the world. You can see his work on socials.
