The Restoration Tour made a powerful stop in Tryon, North Carolina, bringing Rare of Breed, DJ Winn, and Just Nate Musik to Rogers Park for a sold out night of music, testimony, and worship.

I brought my oldest son Max and my youngest daughter Kalli, and both of them enjoyed the show tremendously. This was our first time at Rogers Park, and it turned out to be a great venue. It is a small amphitheater tucked away in the woods inside a neighborhood, which created an intimate and focused atmosphere for the night.

This was also our first time seeing these artists live, and it opened my eyes to just how popular the hic hop genre has become. That blend of country and rap continues to grow, and Rare of Breed is clearly one of the leading voices in that space.

The night began with DJ Winn, who set the tone in the best way possible by opening with prayer and worship. It immediately made it clear that this was not just a concert, but a Christ centered experience.

Just Nate Musik followed. While he performed a few songs, his set leaned heavily into spoken word poetry, which was both engaging and impactful. His delivery held the crowd’s attention, and his message fit perfectly with the heart of the night.

When Rare of Breed took the stage, the energy shifted in a big way. Known off stage as Rob, the name Rare of Breed comes from his own name, and it fits what he brings. His set was backed by a tight group, with Just Nate on electronic drums, DJ Winn serving as hype man, and a multi instrumentalist handling bass and keys with impressive skill.

A North Carolina native, Rare of Breed refers to his style as “Godtwang,” and it is a fitting description. His music blends country roots with hip hop delivery, all centered around faith. Between songs, he spent a lot of time sharing stories, explaining the meaning behind his lyrics, and walking through his testimony. Those moments added depth and made the set feel personal.

One of the standout parts of the night happened before the show even started. Rare of Breed held a meet and greet that drew a long line. He took time with every person, praying with people, taking photos, answering questions, and signing merch. That kind of intentional connection is rare, and it showed how much he genuinely cares about the people who support his music.

The night closed with an altar call, where many people responded and came forward for prayer. It was a powerful moment that reinforced what the entire night was about.

The show sold out with around 200 people in attendance. Considering the venue is off the beaten path and there were no opening acts beyond the tour lineup, it was clear that the crowd was there specifically for Rare of Breed. These were real fans, fully engaged from start to finish.

The event was hosted by Columbia Baptist Church, who had previously brought them in for a show last year. Based on the response, it is easy to see why they wanted them back.

This was more than a concert. It was a night of worship, testimony, and connection. No egos, no distractions, just quality music that pointed directly to Jesus.
