It’s no secret that fans have been BEGGING for My Chemical Romance to return to the stage since the announcement of their break up in 2013. Back in 2016 fans thought they were going to get just that, when the band released a video on July 20th VIA Facebook of the MCR flag waving playing the Black Parade with the date 9/23/16 at the end. However, fans were heart broken to say the least when the next day the band released the following statement,
“We’ve been really touched and blown away by the response to the teaser trailer. We are not touring and there is no reunion planned- only a release for the anniversary of The Black Parade.
Thanks so much for continuing to keep MCR in your minds and in your hearts.”
Now the band has broken the internet once again, as there has been a lot of activity on the band official YouTube channel. 3 days ago the band released “The Black Parade is Dead.” Which is the Final live performance in Mexico City of The Black Parade. Watch the full video below.
Since the release of The Black Parade is Dead, the bands YouTube Channel has been pretty active, releasing 12 videos for previous singles and more over the last 16 hours. Now does that mean the band is returning to the stage? At this time it is still unknown. There has been no word from the band’s other social media accounts if the band is indeed getting back together or if this is something similar to what happened back in 2016. However, looking at the band’s discography it doesn’t seem that it will be a special release for the anniversary of any albums seeing as the last album was released in 2010, so it will not turn 10 until 2020. What would be AWESOME however, is if the band and Warped Tour founder Kevin Lyman got together and announced on March 1st that My Chemical Romance will be the headliner for the Final Warped Tour this Summer. Again, that’s just Josh’s thoughts and nothing has been announced by either party, it’s just me thinking of a way for Warped Tour to go out with a BANG. Either way till we hear something from the band watch, The Black Parade is Dead, above and let’s be filled with the joys what what could be.
