Luke Combs Charlottesville Review: Powerful Performance at Scott Stadium

I’ve been wanting to see Luke Combs live for years, so finally getting to catch him at Scott Stadium felt like a long time coming. And I’ll just say it straight up, he didn’t disappoint.

I’ve had a lot going on in my life lately. Some personal stuff I don’t always talk about, but it’s been there. And when he started playing Wish Upon A Whiskey, that damn near broke me. It already gets me when I’m just driving around listening to it, but hearing it live, with the way Luke puts everything he has into it, took it to a completely different level.

That’s the thing about him, he can go from ripping through songs like Beer Never Broke My Heart and Hurricane where the whole stadium is losing it, straight into something that slows everything down and makes you actually feel something. Not every artist can do that the way he does.

And the whole night was solid from the start. Dierks Bentley opened and was exactly what you’d expect, in the best way. He never misses. High-energy, fun the entire time. Jake Worthington was another highlight for me too. I’ve always liked his sound, and hearing it live just sold me.

Honestly, it was one of those nights I won’t forget for a long time. Not just because the music was good, but because of how it made me feel. If you get the chance to see Luke on this tour, don’t even think twice about it. Just go.
