ACCEPT are celebrating 50 years by digging into their massive catalog and giving some of their best-known songs a fresh coat of steel. The latest is a new version of “Losers and Winners,” originally released on Balls to the Wall in 1983. This time around, Wolf Hoffmann and Mark Tornillo are joined by an incredible group of guests: Hansi Kürsch of Blind Guardian on vocals, Paul Gilbert on guitar, Chuck Garric on bass, and legendary drummer Tommy Aldridge.

Everyone on this song adds their own special talent to bring together something special. Hansi Kürsch has a fantastic voice, and his unmistakable delivery works extremely well with Mark Tornillo. The different vocal styles complement each other while still keeping the classic ACCEPT attitude at the center of the song.

Musically, this thing is hard-driving from beginning to end. There are some really cool guitar parts throughout, with Wolf Hoffmann and Paul Gilbert bringing plenty of fire to the track. Chuck Garric’s bass sounds killer and gives the song a powerful low-end foundation, while Tommy Aldridge’s crushing drums push everything forward with authority.

What I really like is that this does not feel like a group of big-name musicians simply showing up to play an old song. Everyone brings something recognizable from their own style, but it all comes together naturally. The result still sounds like ACCEPT, only with another layer of personality and firepower.

“Losers and Winners” comes from Teutonic Titans 1976-2026, ACCEPT’s 50th anniversary release featuring 19 re-recorded songs from the band’s catalog and 50 guest musicians. The album was produced, mixed, and mastered by Zeuss and released through Napalm Records.

After five decades, ACCEPT can still deliver hard-driving heavy metal with killer riffs, powerful vocals, crushing drums, and plenty of attitude. Bringing together Hansi Kürsch, Paul Gilbert, Chuck Garric, and Tommy Aldridge makes this version of “Losers and Winners” something special.
