On Tuesday, August 14th Evanescence, and Lindsey Stirling brought their co-headliner to Upstate South Carolina to the Heritage Park Amphitheater. This was not your standard concert. Alongside classically trained vocalist Amy Lee and her band were a full orchestra adding to be band’s already unique blend of classical and rock music. Evanescence kicked off the show just as the sun was beginning to set in the distance, adding to the already laidback storyteller feel of the show. Evanescence played a MASSIVE 17 song set spanning across the band’s entire catalog including 5 off the band’s latest album Synthesis. Watch Evanescence perform their latest single Hi-Lo  below

Everything about this show was wonderful. Going into it I knew the atmosphere was going to be a little different given the orchestra that accompanied the band, which I’ll be honest I think it took some concert goes by surprise and they left disappointed. However, everything flowed beautifully together, from the setlist arrangement to the full orchestra, to the led screens behind the band. This entire tour is a perfect combination of visual and sound allowing you to sit back and enjoy.

Being a Co-Headliner, Evanescence and Lindsey Stirling rotated who closed the show each night. This particular night Lindsey Stirling closed the show. From the moment Lindsey took the stage she owned every inch of it. Kicking off her set for the night with a very inspirational video including various videos from her childhood and from her career. She followed that with The Arena off her 2016 release Brave Enough, followed by Moon Trance and Shadows.  Four songs in Lindsey played fan favorite Shatter Me (Watch Below) Featuring Amy Lee on vocal duties covering for Halestorm vocalist Lizzy Hale. The production crew for this tour really brought this video to life live on stage, bring along Ballerinas as well as phenomenal visual effects on the LCD screens behind the band.

Now I won’t bore you with a play by play review of the show, however, I will tell you this both Evanescence and Lindsey Stirling both bring an amazing performance to the stage. From the amazing vocal range of Amy Lee to the high energy performance of Lindsey Stirling. I have never seen either band perform live but they’re now on my list of must-see bands when they’re in town. There’s still a handful of dates left on this tour, so there’s still a chance to catch the amazing musical genius.
