Jay Buchanan has always had one of the most powerful voices in rock, but “Caroline” shows a completely different side of him, and honestly, it’s stunning. There’s something real and vulnerable woven into every line, and you can feel it immediately.

It’s truly beautiful and a classic wounded tale of loss. It feels like someone quietly opening up their chest and letting you see exactly what’s hurting. Jay’s voice, usually known for its firepower with Rival Sons, is stripped back here. Softer, more fragile, and somehow even more emotional.

“Caroline” isn’t just a great single. It feels like Jay letting us into a new chapter of who he is as an artist and a person. And damn, does it land.

Album Announcement: Weapons of Beauty, Coming February 6, 2026

Jay Buchanan’s debut solo album, Weapons of Beauty, is officially on the way, and it already feels like something special. He wrote it in an underground bunker in the Mojave Desert, which seems to be an effective writing method.

If “Caroline” is any sign of what’s coming, Weapons of Beauty is going to be one of those albums that you have on repeat with a glass of bourbon in your hand. It feels like Jay is stepping fully into who he is, without any noise or expectations, just truth, pain, hope, and that unreal voice tying it all together.

I can’t wait for the full album.
