I was excited to hear that we would get an awesome end-of-summer tour for Charlotte, NC. This is when A Day To Remember and Yellowcard announced they would be co-headlining a 35+ stop tour across the US. To my surprise , one of the first few stops was at Charlotte’s very own PNC Music Pavilion.
YELLOWCARD
For a band that I am not so familiar with musically, but have seen multiple times live , Yellowcard may have finally roped me in as a fan. They had an insane setup for this tour. As the intro track of Top Gun was felt throughout the speakers, the crowd went nuts as all the members took the stage with intensity. Frontman Ryan Key started the set off with the hit track “Only One” from their Ocean Avenue album. The band played a bunch of fan favorites and even their two newest singles from their album due next month. Overall, the stage presence and awesome pyro kept me engaged in their co-headlining set! Check out their new album Better Days outon October 10th

A Day To Remember
It’s been over a decade since I last saw A Day To Remember live. In fact, Common Courtesy (2013) pretty much just released. This was a treat to finally see them again. ADTR seems to have a tradition of playing The Downfall Of Us All for their opening track, and it seems like only yesterday since I have seen this song live. The energy and showmanship this band commands on stage is just stellar. Frontman, Jeremy McKinnon, doesn’t seem to age physically or vocally. He came out as if he were 23 again. Since the band toured with Yellowcard, I believe the set was a bit tuned down to cater to the sing-along crowd. The great thing about ADTR is that they literally have something for everybody in their discography. The show kept going with confetti blasts and loud singing . What a great way to spend a Tuesday night, as the weather was perfect and the jams were jamming. I hope I don’t have to wait another decade to see them again. They seriously are top tier for live performances.
