It’s Time To Give The Devil Wears Prada Their Flowers

The Devil Wears Prada have been metalcore mainstays for nearly two decades, weathering trends, lineup changes, and shifting sonic landscapes with impressive creativity in my opinion. Now, as they prepare to release their ninth studio album Flowers on November 14th, the band is proving that longevity doesn’t just mean surviving the years, it means evolution. And honestly? It’s time to give them their flowers.

The rollout has already made waves, quite literally, with the double single Wave and Where the Flowers Never Grow. The former is a sweeping, textured experiment in melody and weight, that pays off beautifully. The latter, described by guitarist Jeremy DePoyster as “a reflection on inner darkness even when life looks bright,” hits with emotional resonance paired with haunting atmospherics with TDWP’s trademark sound.

Then there’s For You. It’s a reminder that Prada can write hooks without compromising their intensity. If early indicators hold true, Flowers isn’t a desperate bid for relevance; it’s a culmination. It’s a record that acknowledges where they’ve been, embraces who they are now, and dares to bloom into something new.

Come November, when Flowers fully blossoms, we might all be asking: How many bands last this long and stay this good? Until then, let’s start giving TDWP the flowers they deserve.
