We Came As Romans Live in Charlotte NC

The Bad Luck Tour finally stops in Charlotte, NC for its lucky 7th date of the tour. Lucky is how I felt at least to see such an awesome lineup on a Wednesday evening.

Johnny Booth

The tour opened up with NY’s own, Johnny Booth. This was my first time hearing from the band, and I’m glad I got the chance to see them live for my first experience. Crazy movement and energy was seen throughout their set as the frontman, Andrew, kicked and screamed in a literal sense to win over the crowd. I was quite entertained as it was refreshing to see an opening act set the tempo so high.

After The Burial

Next up was After The Burial. I have seen them a few times live, including The All Stars Tour here in Charlotte, back when summer festivals were very prominent here. Frontman Anthony mentioned that they have been on a little break due to personal life matters and how this was their first tour back in a while. They could have fooled me since it appeared as if they never took time off, and it seemed like just a few years ago since I saw them play at the last show, even if it’s been over a decade. They still brought the Djent!

Currents

Currents has been a band over the past few years that a bunch of metalcore fans have seemed to grow a huge liking to. This was my first time catching them live, and I must say…Wow. I can see why the Internet has been echoing their name in metal forums as a band to check out. I must say it was fun watching the bassist (Christian ) spinning around like a maniac during their set. I definitely want to check them out again live and dig deeper into their discography.

We Came As Romans

This might be the band I’ve seen the most live over the past 16 years I’ve been going to shows. I’ve seen them perform since their first album’s release and watched them mature as a band. This time around, WCAR is on the Bad Luck Tour promoting their 7th full-length album “All Is Beautiful…Because We’re Doomed” . To our luck, the band played 5 songs from the new album, including 2 unreleased tracks. As per usual, this band gets better and better with time, and Dave is just insane performing screams/cleans live. I still find it honorable that the late vocalist Kyle has not been replaced and there’s no need to after seeing Dave step up and prove how strong he is as a frontman. Check out the new album releasing on 8/22/25. These guys still have a ton left in the tank!
