Song Review: Thousand Below – Sinking Me

Getting signed this year post-hardcore outfit Thousand Below are fresh and have proven to be a band to watch out for. The song titled “Sinking Me” was uploaded today and I was once again blown away with the talent of this band.

The appeal of Thousand Below is they have the sound of an older post-hardcore band like Underoath but they spin it and make it fresh but familiar. The cleans are stressed but still very clear and the screams are definitely reminiscent of Spencer Chamberlain. The song is highly enjoyable the mix of screams and cleans are balanced well to where neither get redundant. The chorus hits hard with the lyrics:

Broken, looking for something, looking for something that isn’t me.

Everything I could really do without is sinking, sinking me.

The song features a breakdown which is well done with the screamed vocals over it hard hitting and the overall feel of the song is satisfying. For a band that isn’t well-established potential is shown through this song. Check out the single below and catch them on tour with Youth in Revolt and Light Up The Sky!
