Not even a year has passed since Memphis May Fire released their last record ‘This Light I Hold’ and we a brand new song by the band. This song is called ‘Virus’ and has been said it is a stand alone single meaning it won’t be on any upcoming records but it is a build upon their record.
This song sees Memphis May Fire really own their push for radio rock with chunky riffs and random soloing in the verses. The chorus hits with a big hook and powerful build, though the vocal delivery isn’t anything unique as many active rock songs carry this formula. They do utilize their known electronics though not as prominent in recent albums, more so an accent to the sound rather than a part of it. This single could very well see the band hit the mainstream airwaves as it has that accessible style.
“‘Virus’ is a whole new flavor of Memphis May Fire and we couldn’t be more excited about it,” said singer Matty Mullins. “We are always striving to grow as artists and with that comes a natural evolution of the band. We’re ecstatic to share this song with our fans and to continue working towards being the best version of MMF yet!
