The Frozen Flames Tour ft August Burns Red
With Miss May I, NORTHLANE, Fit For A King, and ERRA
The NorVA Norfolk, VA
By Jason Gillis
This was a heavy hitting show with a lineup that could never disappoint any metal head! Heavy riffs, amazing solos, strong breakdowns, every band in this tour delivered the best they had of all of these. They fed off of the crowd, and the crowd fed off of the bands, and the energy in the NorVA was absolutely intense.
ERRA was the first band to go up and before the show I was lucky enough to snag an interview with two members of the band, Jesse Cash who does guitars and clean vocals, and Alex Ballew who plays drums. They put on a hell of a show, giving the crowd the heavy feel that their fans enjoy, and I only wish they could’ve played longer. Then on came Fit For A King who also rocked the crowd. Even people who weren’t yet fans of the band were really getting into their set. Up next, Northlane, who helped to blow the roof off the place with their heavy, strong sound that brings life to the show. Miss May I has a bigger following then some of the other bands and they showed why. Circle pits, in multiple places on the floor, flowing with the music, giving the heavy feel of unity throughout the venue. This feeling was continued when August Burns Red came on, getting the audience into the heavy ups and downs of each song.
Everywhere the tour took them their sets delivered the same feeling, heavy, heart-pounding adrenaline that every soul from every venue gathered from the intense sounds and feelings of every band. Because of the fact that both the audience and the performers fed off of each other’s energy, I believe it is safe to say that they enjoyed the feelings and both had an immense amount of fun throughout this tour. Can’t wait to see all these guys again!!
