Amaranthe live in Baltimore

Swedish Metal rockers Amaranthe hit Soundstage in Baltimore, Maryland last week, 2 nights short of wrapping up their North American “Maximalism” Tour. Since their debut self-titled album in 2011, they’ve pumped out 3 additional albums, their latest being “Maximalism” that dropped this past October. As a relatively new fan of Amaranthe, I’ve been really eager to see them live. One of my favorite things that make Amaranthe so unique, is the use of 3 vocalists. Elize, Henrik, and Chris all took the stage respectively around 10:30 and serenaded the crowd under an array of beautiful colors. I loved how the set was as fast paced as their music is, and the crowd loved every second of it. Nearly an hour later, Amaranthe left the stage and re-emerged to play a 4 song encore including “Digital World”, “That Song”, “Dynamite”, and fan favorite “Drop Dead Cynical” shortly before midnight. The band was just as thankful to have the opportunity to play in Baltimore, as the fans were to see them. I absolutely can’t wait for Amaranthe to return next, till then they are back to Europe.

Amaranthe is:
Elize Ryd – Vocals (female)
Henrik Englund Wilhemsson – Vocals (unclean male)
Chris Adam Hedman Sörbye – Vocals (clean male)
Olof Mörck – Guitar
Johan Andreassen – Bass
Morten Løwe Sørensen – Drums
