Top Christmas Songs By Some Of Your Favorite Bands

The holidays are here and some have been playing Christmas songs since…the day after Halloween. Like what are you doing?! Anyway, there is a way to get into the festive spirit without having to burn your eardrums of the same boring holiday tunes that have been burned into our mind. When done right, bands that we love can sometimes perform these classics to perfection as well as writing their own songs which tend to be very emotional and moving. Today, we will give two lists of jams which will be some songs we love. So let’s kick it off…Bee Tee Dubz, this is being written in a Starbucks with…those ‘bad’ type of Christmas songs playing.

New Sleeping With Sirens Song

Before we get into the list, it is worth noting that Sleeping With Sirens have released a new Christmas song also! It is called ‘Christmas On The Road’ and is an acoustic track which is only streamable at this moment on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon, etc. This accompanies a small southwestern run the band is doing as well.

Top Christmas Songs

1. Carol Of The Bells by August Burns Red

If any band can put Trans-Siberian Orchestra in their place it is August Burns Red. They have taken the throne of being the metal kings of Christmas, and this song is no exception. This is certainly my top Christmas song they have done and comparing it to TSO’s, I have to say it wins without no doubt.

2. O Holy Night by Go Radio

Off the ‘Tis The Season To Be Fearless’ EP, Go Radio’s Jason Lancaster showed why he was one of the best in the game at the time. His powerful voice starts off calmly before erupting into a goosebump induced level not many singers can go do. The emotion and power in his voice mixed with the song’s already mellowed tone just set this version apart from many others and other songs.

3. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays by Issues

Issues is one of those bands that can take a traditional style and make it their own. This version of the song at times reminds me of the 90s when the boybands like NSYNC or The Backstreet boys did these albums. Throw that boyband flare in with some heavy grooves and some bouncy moments and you don’t have to blame the eggnog for why you’re so loose and unstable.

4. I Hope You Have A Sh*tty Christmas by Landon Tewers

Outside of The Plot In You, Landon Tewers has had some interesting tunes written for his own music. He dropped a Christmas EP back in 2015 which is probably the most humorous thing you’ll hear all season if ya haven’t yet. If you want Hallmark warm and fuzzy move along, if you want dirty Santa and raunchy, welcome to the family.

5. Mile High Christmas by Breathe Carolina

Also off the Fearless Records Christmas EP, this is old school Breathe Carolina just doing what they do. Helping Santa guide his sleigh while he’s drunk to assure next year has presents, playing in the snow, and warming up by the fire. Also, former member Kyle Even screams a line which is what we all want to but only do so internally when we see the tree on that magical morning. Whether your 7, 17, or 27. Never gets old.

Honorable Mention:

Memories In The Attic by Convictions

This comes off the Invogue Records compilation which was released last year, which overall is sad as hell. This song however is interesting because it doesn’t remotely sound like a Christmas song. However, you can hear the theme lyrically while musically is passionate metalcore. It leaves you haunted more so than joyful.
