It’s been close to a year since Asking Alexandria announced Danny Worsnop’s return. Fans have patiently waited for new music, wondering if the frontman turned country artist could make a big comeback in one of the worlds most prominent metalcore bands. As of September 21, the wait is over.
Asking Alexandria released their single Into The Fire on Thursday. This is the second single from their new album (expected 2018). The first single, however, was titled I Am Iniquity and featured only one line in the entire 42 seconds. Needless to say, Into The Fire has a bit more “hype” surrounding it.
The song is around four minutes long and features all the aspects of Danny’s voice that everyone knows and loves. With a new, more harmonic instrumental, Danny takes Fans back to the screams of Reckless and Relentless, the clean vocals of Reckless and Relentless, and the iconic raspy singing of From Death To Destiny. He easily makes it known that he can still keep Asking Alexandria relevant even after all of the problems the band has faced over the past two years.
The song is both dark and light, having two different messages in the lyrics. One being, that the person represented in the story isn’t entirely pleased with himself, the other saying that, no matter how much he dislikes himself today, he still wouldn’t change any of the past. It’s a clear representation of how Danny was feeling prior to his departure, with a bit of a twist. The twist being that this time, he’s going to do his best.
Overall The song is a different style than what fans are used to. However, the music video has over 1,000,000 views in just 3 days, with only 2000 dislikes on YouTube. It’s safe to say that the song is well received, and fans are pleased with the return of Danny.
