Linkin Park Vocalist Chester Bennington Passes Away Tragically

Saying Linkin Park didn’t make a mark in the nu metal genre would straight up be lying. Hybrid Theory and Meteora are classics and still hold up today. But we are sad to report the vocalist for this band has committed suicide.

Police say he was found at a private residence in Palos Verdes Estate which is located in LA County. His body was found Thursday at around 9 AM. Chester had struggled with alcohol and drugs and had mentioned he thought about suicide before due to the trauma of being abused as a child. Chester was 41 and left behind 6 children. We remember Chester for the energy he was on stage and the mark he and his band made on the music scene.

We at Soundlink urge you to seek help if you feel like there is nowhere else to turn. There is always someone there to listen and try and help.

UPDATE: Musicians from various genres remember Chester some even giving credit to him for their careers even being a thing.
